Sarah Moschenross

Program Leader

Dr. Sarah Moschenross is an experienced executive with more than 20 years of leadership in the higher education sector. She has achieved success making institutional culture change, driven strategic planning, and demonstrated operational excellence as a leader of a division, a supervisor, and mentor. Leading with a distinctly collaborative style, she centers inclusive and restorative practices in her work, prioritizing the relationships needed to achieve collective outcomes. Currently serving as the Vice President for Student Life at Lafayette College, an elite, private, liberal arts college, Dr. Moschenross collaborates cross-institutionally with administrative executives, faculty, staff, and students to boldly lead with diplomacy, resolve, and integrity in an industry experiencing upheaval and new headwinds. 

Her research and passion projects focus on women’s leadership development, burn-out recovery, strategies for making inclusive change, executive wellness, and restorative practices. Dr. Moschenross has experience teaching in the college classroom and facilitating learning in the co-curricular. Active in higher education, she has been Iowa’s state liaison for the Standing Committee for Women and on the directorate board of the Commission for Social Justice Educators for the American College Personnel Association, and president of the Iowa Student Personnel Association. She co-chaired The National Association of Student Personnel’s annual convening of the Vice-Presidents for Student Life in Washington, D.C. in 2025. 

Dr. Moschenross is a graduate of Iowa State University (BS), The University of Iowa (MA), and The University of Wisconsin La Crosse (Ed.D.) as well as the HERS: Women in Higher Education Leadership Institute.

In her free time, Dr. Moschenross is a mom to 3, a voracious reader, an amateur knitter, a dog mom to her standard poodle, Hazel, and a certified Reiki practitioner.
